Why it exists
Credit teams make consequential decisions under deteriorating conditions. Each decision is usually defensible on its own. But the outcome is determined by the sequence - how decisions interact over time as the situation evolves.
No existing process makes that sequence visible in advance. Teams evaluate individual decisions thoroughly, but the compounding effects only become apparent after the commitments have been made.
GovernanceRehearsal was built to close that gap. It gives credit teams a way to map a sequence of decisions through a deteriorating situation and see where their position ends up - before they commit.
Where it comes from
GovernanceRehearsal was developed from 18 months of direct work with institutional credit teams on covenant judgement - observing how decisions are made, where sequencing creates risk, and why existing tools do not surface it.
The company brings 25 years of experience building and deploying technology into financial services to solve specific operational problems. GovernanceRehearsal applies that approach to a problem that has remained largely unaddressed: making the interaction between decisions visible before the consequences are locked in.
The product draws on techniques from decision modelling and sequencing under constraints - disciplines where the focus is on how choices interact over time, not just whether each individual choice is sound.
How it is built
Scenarios are constructed from patterns observed across real credit situations - the types of deterioration that recur, the decision points that arise, and the sequencing pressures that shape outcomes. They are not replicas of live deals and require no deal-level data.
Each deployment is configured for the team using it - reflecting their portfolio characteristics, governance structure, and the types of situations they encounter. GovernanceRehearsal is not a generic tool being repurposed. It is built specifically for institutional credit teams making decisions under deteriorating conditions.
